| The Roman Bridge of Alcantara is a gigantic and impressive work of engineering of the Roman Hispania, with 194 ms of length and 70 ms of height in the central arc, constituted by three gigantic arcs on the water and other three of smaller proportions in earth. It was erected in emperor Trajano's time in the year 105 with great stones of granite superposed. His creator was Cayo Lucio Lacer, whose name and details of the work were pointed out in an inscription placed on the commemorative temple located to the entrance. |
